Day 17 - Halifax

Driven today: 80 km
Total driven: 4991 km

As soon as we were ready we headed for downtown.  I managed too get a picture of the flag from Nova Scotia


We started at the citadel where we spent all morning





Brenda found  some friends

 We saw a musket demonstration


And took the tour


 We went thru the museum which has a lot of information on the two world wars



Some memorabilia from the Devil's Brigade, the first ever unit of Special Forces and served in WW II

 We walked a bit more arounf the fort



And then headed to the waterfront,  this is the HCMS Sackiville, the last surviving corvette of the Canadian Navy


 We walked and enjoyed the views






There were navy helicopters flying around all day


This guy came verry close to our table to have lunch with us

  And then I met Rei


This is a monument to the first settlers of this area, the Portuguese


The Canadian Navy docks in the distance



A tour tog converted to a cartoon character


We saw more Star Wars characters



And I met Elsa




A huge de luxe yatch



A monument to the extradition of the Acadians by the English


And we finished the day with Mass at the Basilica of St.  Mary




End of vacation, tomorrow we start on the way home
